Bodega CHATEAU D´ANCÓN
Within the Estancia Ancón, with over 400 years of cattle ranching history, the traditional Bombal family from Mendoza chose these lands to produce high quality wines, creating the Bombal 1914 Winery. Later, in 1933, they built the Chateau called Château d’Ancon as a family summer residence.
The Bombal family, pioneers in wine production in Mendoza
The Bombal Winery, founded in Guaymallén in 1914, had the capacity to produce 10 million liters per year, making it one of the most important in Argentina due to its volume. Its main focus was table wines, but they also had more carefully crafted varieties. Therefore, they decided to concentrate on quality and produce wines at Estancia Ancón, such as the Château d’Ancon brand, exclusively sold in Buenos Aires hotels frequented by the local aristocracy, such as the Alvear Palace and the Plaza.
The vineyards of Chardonnay, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Bonarda grapes, located at an altitude of 1300 meters, mark the beginning of the artisanal wine tradition at Estancia Ancón.
Today, with a hundred hectares of vineyards, Ancón is the only estate that produces and crafts its own premium wines. Its small-scale production transforms it into a Boutique Winery, creating high-quality wines by cultivating and processing grapes on the same estate. This artisanal care integrates the visitor’s experience into something unique.
